Beauty and The Beast

December 8-10 at 7.30pm Afternoon shows on December 9-10 at 2.30pm

In the words of Barry White, ‘Too much of anything is not good for you baby. But I don’t know about that.’

The timeless tale of Beauty and The Beast gets a retro kick in the bellbottom pants when it takes the spotlight this December!

Reviews described Laurence Boswell’s Beauty and the Beast as “a brilliantly improvised world that is completed in the mind’s eye of the audience.” First performed at the RSC in 2003, this production is now reimagined by the DSHK Company.

With the help of the director, Vincent Warren, Jonathan Daly (movement director) and Owen Liggett (musical director), the students will recreate this classic tale through movement, acting and singing.

At Drama School HK our specialised group of practitioners strives to support and develop our student’s skills, whilst providing them with the necessary platform to express their own ideas.

During our weekly rehearsals, teamwork is essential; the cast is being challenged to create ideas organically and perform them with clarity while at the same time fostering a sense of community within the company.

Join us as Drama School HK lycra suits-up to take you on a wondrous journey from renaissance to retro, where we will emerge glittering and sequin-spangled in fandango boogie land! No disco ball shall be left unturned!
