We were doing our research for our launch of the art section of the calendar this week and so we've collected a list and blurb on every art gallery in Hong Kong. We think this list is pretty good and should get your ready for Art Week later this month. There's some amazing art to see in Hong Kong.

3812 Contemporary Art Projects

The mission of 3812 Contemporary Art Projects is to find and actively promote artists who have the potential to develop in the long term, without being carried away by the market trends. 3812 serves as a platform for collectors to appreciate contemporary art as well as inspire artists, galleries and collectors to think about the outlook and development of contemporary art, particularly in Asia. We aspire to continue introducing works by the artists for the long term to share their growth and development.



AISHONANZUKA introduces and finds artists which are out of the framework of the art system after the war, and works to grow young artists who will open possibilities of the art scene in the future. It represents artists with striking originality, such as Tanaami Keiichi and Hajime Sorayama, Japanese young hope artists, Shuhei Yamada and Yoshihiro Kikuchi, also  powerful international artists, Dirk Skereber and Todd James. It also has been busy communicating with other scenes, such as fashion, music, and design actively.


Alisan Fine Arts

Founded in 1981, is one of the first professionally run gallery in Hong Kong. Over  the years it has organised more than 100 exhibitions for Chinese artists  living around the world. Through these exhibitions and other events, Alisan  has brought to Hong Kong and other parts of Asia established international  Chinese artists, In 1987 

the gallery began promoting Chinese artists from the mainland.

Korkos Gallery

Korkos is dedicated to exhibiting and promoting emerging and mid-career artists of  imagination and ability, as well as established international figures.  Korkos Gallery is a member of Hong Kong Commercial Art Galleries Association.

Mur Nomade is the curatorial office and gallery founded in Hong Kong in 2012 by curator Amandine Hervey.

Their name is the French translation of ‘nomadic wall’. They present site-specific projects in selected venues all around Hong Kong, in addition to regular exhibitions at our gallery space in Aberdeen.

Mur Nomade focuses on projects encouraging cultural exchanges and creative encounters. They like bold ideas and are convinced that cultural exchanges support creativity, stimulate emulation and encourage. experimentation.

Koru Contemporary Art

Koru Contemporary Art, based in Hong Kong since 2001, represents a broad base of contemporary artists, specialising in sculpture. They exhibit work in a range of media including wood, bronze, stone, glass, ceramic and mixed media, painting, prints and photography. They are located in a post industrial building in Aberdeen, Hong Kong and have the luxury of over 7,500 square feet of exhibition space.

Art Projects  Gallery

Art Projects Gallery was established in Hong Kong in March 2010, specializing in contemporary fine arts. Representing established and  emerging artists, with the aim to promote and encourage artistic innovation. They are passionate art lovers who constantly and actively seek out talented artists in the region and the world to showcase works of art that are innovative in the exploration of content, technique and medium.

FEAST  Projects

Founded by Philippe Koutouzis in 2010, FEAST Projects produces experimental projects through collaboration with both established and emerging contemporary artists.  Represented are works in classical mediums, as well as works involving the new convergence of art, music, performance, film and design. The 2,500 sq ft gallery area features spacious terrace overlooking the sea.  Designed for flexible layout: all walls are moveable to accommodate each exhibition installation.  In contrast the newly acquired 3,000 sq ft space presently remains a raw shell suitable for performance and experimental pieces.  Both are located in Harbour Industrial Center, Ap Lei Chau.

toof is a unique project that provides access to inspiring and  thought-provoking, contemporary art from around the world, with a focus on Latin America. The gallery is a space for celebrating art in all its forms, including conceptual art, urban art, installation art, photography and sculptures. toof [contemporary] aims to open cultural horizons, inspire collaborations, and forge relationships by acting as a bridge between artists, collectors, and art lovers, all while prodding a broader audience to ‘open your eyes and see’.

For the five years since it opened in NoHo Hong Kong, a gallery has been  showcasing new and emerging artists from the vibrant Asian art scene. Arch Angel Art

One of Hong Kong’s biggest galleries features an outstanding collection of  contemporary Vietnamese oil paintings, acquired directly from the artists. The owners have carefully selected and bought each painting during frequent  trips to Vietnam so, contrary to common practice, none of the works are on  consignment. Be sure to check out their private stock on nearby Peel Street,  featuring a fine collection of 20th-century contemporary paintings from some  of Asia’s leading artists.

Art  Beatus Gallery

Founded  in Hong Kong in 1992. With an addition  of a second gallery in Vancouver, Canada, in 1996. Art Beatus, the first gallery of its kind operating simultaneously on both sides of the Pacific. Art Beatus represents and promotes  International modern and contemporary art with a unique focus on contemporary Chinese art. Blindspot  Gallery

Set up to bring contemporary photography, an art form that has entered the blind spot of the Hong Kong art scene, to a higher degree of visibility. They feature both established and emerging photographers and artists, mainly from the  region but also beyond. The gallery hosts about 8 exhibitions a year.

CAIS Gallery Hong Kong

First established in April, 2007, CAIS Gallery Hong Kong is an exhibition space  affiliated with CAIS Gallery Seoul. Located on Hollywood Road, a famous arts  and antiques district on Hong Kong Island, it is strategically placed at the  center of the emerging Asian art market. CAIS HK exhibits work by  contemporary artists, particularly focusing on works by Korean artists.  Artists currently represented include: Gary Simmons, Kim Eun Jin, Kwon Ki Soo  and Zuo Qi Lin.

Collins  & Kent International

Collins and Kent was originally founded in Sydney, Australia in 1999. After a decade  serving clients throughout Australia, the company changed its ownership and  name to Collins & Kent International Pty Ltd (CKI) to reflect its  ever-increasing international clientele. In 2010, Collins & Kent International opened its first international office in Singapore and followed this in 2012 with the opening  of our gallery in Hong Kong, which now serves as our regional head office. Collins & Kent International specialises in the works of the Masters focusing our expertise  on the most liquid, collected and affordable sector of the market.

Connoisseur Art Gallery

Connoisseur Art Gallery is one of the most reputable and established galleries in Hong  Kong. It specialises in collectible realist and figurative art by Chinese  master artists, but also represents internationally acclaimed Swedish artist,  Dorina Mocan. Contemporary By Angela Li

Contemporary by Angela Li is one of the most exciting art spaces showcasing and promoting contemporary art with a prominent space on Hollywood Road in the centre of  Hong Kong's art hub. Regular curated exhibitions are held for up-and-coming  and established artists from China and worldwide.

Edouard Malingue Gallery

Edouard Malingue Gallery was founded to show emerging and established Contemporary artists with a multicultural perspective. From time to time the gallery shows Modern Art in collaboration with Galerie Malingue, Paris, founded 50 years ago.

Galerie Perrotin

Located on the 17th floor of the prestigious 50 Connaught Road Central, Galerie  Perrotin Hong Kong is destined to bring a new dimension of contemporary art  to the Asian audience. Etsuko Nakajima and Alice Lung have been appointed directors of this new space. Founded in 1990, Galerie Perrotin has pioneered  the collaboration between a Western gallery and Asian artists.

Grotto Fine Art

HanartTZ  Gallery

One of  the first galleries to set up shop in Hong Kong, Hanart TZ is run by Johnson  Chang. A pioneer in contemporary Chinese art, Chang has been exhibiting  important Mainland Chinese, Taiwanese and Hong Kong artists since the early  1980s. Located in Pedder Building, the gallery exhibits installations, oil  paintings, video art and contemporary Chinese ink paintings.

Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre

The Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre (VAC) is a branch of the APO, it provides  well-equipped studios for trained artists practising in the fields of  sculpture, printmaking and ceramics, facilitating them in their artistic  creation in holding different kinds of visual arts activities. Currently the VAC runs nine studios, a lecture theatre, an exhibition gallery and two  multi-purpose rooms, open for hire to artists and art groups. Moreover, VAC  often organizes various art activities, including workshops, exhibitions,  demonstrations, lectures and artist-in-residence programmes. It focuses on  the promotion of and the training in visual arts. It is a place for exchange  of ideas among artists and for the fostering of budding artists.

Established in Singapore since 1999, iPRECIATION is a fine art company that embodies an exquisite showcase of Modern and Contemporary Asian Art with an exhibition space of 1604 square feet. Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery

Kwai Fung focused on the introduction of European oil paintings and sculptures. In 1996, on the foundation of the Gallery, Ms Kwai founded Kwai Fung Art  Consultants. Lehmann Maupin

Founded by partners Rachel Lehmann and David Maupin, Lehmann Maupin first opened in SoHo in October 1996, and in September 2002, moved to its present location in Chelsea.  A second New York gallery space opened in late 2007 in Manhattan's new cultural hub, the Lower East Side. Most recently, it opened its first international gallery space in Hong Kong in March 2013. Over the years, Lehman Maupin has collaborated with world-renowned architect Rem Koolhaas and his firm OMA on the renovations of the SoHo, Chelsea and Hong Kong galleries.  The gallery has garnered a reputation for supporting artists working across disciplines and with new and challenging forms of creative expression; artists whose work has had a lasting impact on contemporary art and culture.

Lee Wing Tong gallery

Lee Wing Tong, a fine art gallery promotes the works of established and emerging local artists. They also carry the works of three mainland chinese artists, He Feng, Liang Pei-Long and Zhu Tao. Rather than following the market trend, all their artists have their own unique styles and their works are creative and inspiring.

Madhouse Gallery

Madhouse shows up-and-coming and established artists from around the region and  occasionally from Europe. The space is edgy yet sophisticated and it has been used for private parties and pop-up shops for designer brands like Chanel and YSL.

Mischmasch Gallery

An online international artist community, launched in 2009. The gallery became the venue for its community to exhibit, gather and learn from each other, whilst also allowing buyers to purchase. Its mission is to encourage dialogue between the artists collectors from around the world.

New Gallery on Old Bailey

Established in 2009, New Gallery on Old Bailey is committed to promoting emerging  artists, many of them local, to the art-buying market, as well as  strengthening their professional art career. It produces an average of nine  exhibitions a year, and publishes catalogues for the artists in conjunction  with their shows on a regular basis.

Norman H. Tolman

The  largest publisher of contemporary Japanese prints, operates galleries in  Tokyo, New York, Singapore and now in Hong Kong. Mr. Tolman has lived in Asia, mostly in Japan since 1955. He is a dealer who turned his hobby into a small family business which  has now become an internationally-recognized one supplying some four dozen  galleries around the world.

Simon Lee Hong Kong

Simon Lee Gallery was founded in 2002. It represents artists of diverse generations from Europe and the USA, whose practices range from sculpture and painting to video and photography, sharing a broad interest in an exploration of the conceptual.

Tao  Evolution

Tào Gallery represents a stable of outstanding international photographers, as  well as artists engaged in a variety of mediums including works on paper,  ceramic  sculpture and painting. Wellington Gallery

White Cube Hong Kong 

Located  at 50 Connaught Road, in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district. lt  provides over 550 m² (6000 sqft) of interior space over two floors, including  a gallery height of over 4.5 meters. Designed by the London based architects  Maybank and Matthews Architects, this is the first of White Cube’s galleries  to be located 

outside of the UK.

Zee  Stone Gallery

Zee Stone Gallery, established in 1991, exhibits a wide range of contemporary  artists from mainland China working in both Chinese ink and colour on paper and oil on canvas. The paintings shown in the gallery mirror the rich  diversity of contemporary Chinese art: from abstract landscapes to  photorealistic portraits, from paintings on rice paper by traditionally  trained Chinese masters, to exciting new work in oil, acrylic and mixed media  by a younger generation of artists.

AO:  Vertical Art Space

A unique vertical staircase art gallery from 3/F to 13/F. Just  launched in May 2012, AO Vertical Art Space is the first ‘vertical flow’ gallery in Hong Kong at the staircase from 3/F to 13/F.  Developed by Asia One Communications Group, this innovative venue aims to provide a unique  exhibition platform for art appreciation in Chai Wan.

Artify Gallery

At  the vanguard of the contemporary art of the print – with unique access to the latest state-of-the-art technology. Artify Gallery aims to collaborate with emerging artists, to provide  access to new methodologies of production. Opening channels from contemporary  photo printing to the traditional etching, intaglio, lithography, monotype,  ink art, silkscreen, woodblock printing, collage, and paper works, the  gallery will host a dynamic combination of exhibitions and interactive  outreach events.
